About Power Plugs & Sockets
The Story Behind This Project
Hi there! I'm Subash Geetha Krishnan, a Tech Lead originally from India, currently based in Singapore. Having traveled across the globe for both work and leisure, I've experienced firsthand the frustration of arriving in a new country only to realize my devices can't be charged.
As an IT professional, my life revolves around gadgets – MacBooks, iPads, tablets, smartphones, portable chargers, cameras, and countless other devices that have become essential for both work and daily life. Every trip abroad meant researching power plugs, voltages, and adapter requirements, often scrambling at the last minute.
Why I Built This
After countless trips from Singapore to Europe, the Americas, and across Asia-Pacific, I realized there wasn't a single, comprehensive resource that made it easy to understand electrical standards around the world. The information was scattered across multiple websites, often outdated or incomplete.
Power Plugs & Sockets was born from this personal pain point. My goal is to create the most user-friendly, accurate, and comprehensive guide to help travelers like you understand what power adapters and converters you'll need before you pack your bags.
